The vFan Portable Airbrush System, manufactured and marketed by Chicago-based Preval, has received a New Products Showcase Award from SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association.

The awards, announced in November at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, recognize the most innovative automotive products either on the market or about to hit the market. This year, nearly 2,000 new products were submitted for consideration.

Preval’s vFan Portable Airbrush System was named runner up in the Best New Packaging Display category. Criteria that ranked high on the judges’ selection for the New Product Showcase Awards included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.

The vFan Portable Airbrush System is used for precision paint and material dispensing; touch-ups and surface repairs; surface preparation; and curing. Distributed worldwide, the vFan Airbrush is used in diverse markets across the globe, including the appliance, automotive, aerospace, arts, bookbinding, craft and hobby, container, converting, electronics, food and beverage, furniture, home improvement, life sciences and medical, light emitting diodes (LED), metal finishing, marine, new home resurfacing, non-woven, packaging, scrap booking, semiconductor and solar energy and textile industries.

The vFan Airbrush is the only device on the market that converts to an airgun and achieves both 3-inch fan and 1/16-inch hairline patterns. Amazingly portable, the vFan Airbrush can be used in all environments when powered by 150 Feet of Energy, Preval’s innovative, eco-friendly aerosol compressor unit. Each canister of 150 Feet of Energy contains 7 ounces of VOC-exempt propellant that powers more than 150 feet of linear paint coverage and up to 40 square feet of paint coverage. The vFan Airbrush is also compatible with most workshop compressors.

“Preval was recognized for its effective and innovative packaging of the vFan Portable Airbrush System,” said Della Domingo, SEMA’s public relations director. “Packaging is an important component to the success of a product, which is the reason why there is a category dedicated solely to this area. We’re pleased to honor Preval with this award.”

“We are thrilled to be recognized for all of the hard work we put into making the vFan the marketplace success it has become,” said Preval President Sam Averbuch. “As with all of our products, we put our innovative Preval technology to work in the vFan Portable Airbrush System to ensure it delivers professional results at a fraction of the cost of comparable spray systems. We wanted our packaging display to represent that value.”

The dual action vFan Airbrush allows for the user to control air flow and product output. This precision-based technology allows vFan Airbrush user to atomize coatings, paints and chemicals at nano-sized droplets. This gives the vFan Airbrush amazing versatility and the ability to deliver both ultra-thin and thicker coatings.
