Home holiday DIY
The week after Thanksgiving marks expanding waistlines, Black Friday shrinking bank accounts, and socially acceptable holiday obsession. It also marks time to start decking the halls with boughs of holly and glittering globes.
All this festive cheer a little daunting? Today’s #DIY is a simple spruce you can create with your Preval Sprayer and some household items.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- 1 x Preval Sprayer
- 1 x Createx non-toxic paint in a metallic of your choice
- 1 x Epsom salt
- 1 x Empty wine bottle (or glass bottle of your choice)
We prefer to use Createx paints in order to get that perfect finish—and to eliminate those noxious paint fumes that come with aerosols! After you have mixed your paint with water and poured into the Sprayer’s product container based on the directions, you are ready to prep your stencil.
STEP 1
Clean wine bottle and soak to remove label. This doesn’t need to be perfect, but make sure to dry the surface completely.
STEP 2
Paint the bottle. To avoid dripping paint, stick to sweeping spraying motions. Be sure to spray the bottle on a covered surface. Even coverage is important all over the bottle, but pay special attention to the areas that you don’t intend to ‘glitter’.
STEP 3
Once bottle is completely covered, and latest layer of paint is still wet, apply Epsom salt. This is your opportunity to be creative. You can apply epsom salt in stripes, an ombre effect, or all over coverage.
STEP 4
Allow epsom to dry and adhere to paint.
STEP 5
Once epsom salt is ‘secure’ apply enough paint to cover Epsom design.
STEP 6
Allow final coat to dry and decorate!
